Infected insect bites

Adults and children aged 1 year and over.

If you have an infected insect bite, you may experience one or more of these symptoms: 

• The skin around the bite is swollen and/or hot to the touch 
• Pus in or around the bite itself Pus – infected insect bites often create pus in or  
• Swollen glands 
• Flu-like symptoms
